Successful Seminar with Jarkko in Plymouth
We had a great seminar with Jarkko in Plymouth last Saturday. Accompanied by Krzyszof and Marta, Jarkko came down to Plymouth and gave a very enjoyable introduction to the Aikido methods of Nishio Sensei. Empty handed and weapons techniques were covered, which proved to be quite challenging. A good time was had by all.
We also had great fun at the dinner afterwards, where we were joined by Tiina, as well as my wife Marie, and our two daughters, Zoe and Angel. We look forward to more seminars in the future!
All the best,

About the Featured Instructor:
Jarkko Lapinlampi started his Aikido career north Finland, when he joined a local Aikikai aikido club in 1980. In that time Scandinavia's main teacher was Ichimura Sensei.
When Ichimura Sensei moved back to Japan in 1986, a group of aikidoka including Jarkko started to train under Nishio Sensei.
For that purpose they founded a club in Helsinki in 1988, where he studied and taught until 2004, when he moved to London:
During that time he visited many other teachers' seminars in Finland and Europe, although Nishio Sensei was his main teacher and Nishio Sensei has accepted all his dan grades (aikido 4th dan, aikido-toho iai 4th dan). They organized annually his and/or his Japanese student's seminars in Helsinki.
Jarrko was involved in the Educational committee of Finland Aikikai as a Chairman, and was a member of the Technical committee as well (to represent Nishio's aikido in Finland):

Aikidotoho demonstation in Sutton?
Patrick from Sutton (next to Birmingham) asked if me and Ania could join the aikido demonstration, to do some aikidotoho katas (and maybe aikido too, don't know the details yet). It's part of Sutton Carnival (http://www.suttoncoldfieldcarnival.co.uk/
) on 24th and 25th this month.
What do you think Ania, can you do that weekend? Don't know yet which day the demonstration is hold, but there will be aikido classes during the weekend, so maybe Misha and Sergei are interested to join too? Something different definitely...

Greetings from Uppsala
My name is Krzysztof and in September, me and my fiancee Marta will move to London. We have been practicing Nishio Aikido in Uppsala Budo club (uppsalabudoklubb.se) in Sweden with Sensei Knut Hogvall.
For some time I have been looking for a Nishio Aikido school in London, and finally I have found your post at the Nishio memorial web page.
Could you please write some more info about you, maybe send a link to a web page?
Thanks in advance
